Get to know your instructor



Charlie McConnell, IFMA's Senior Director of Insights & Best Practices. 


Charlie McConnell has spent the majority of his 20+ year career in the away-from-home manufacturer industry, making him uniquely qualified to teach IFMA Foodservice Fundamentals.


Prior to joining IFMA in 2018, Charlie held marketing and insights roles at US Foods, Sara Lee Foodservice, and Unilever Foodsolutions. In his current role, Charlie leads IFMA’s Training and Education programs. This includes IFMA Foodservice Fundamentals, a class Charlie has taught over 25 times. Charlie leverages all of his industry experience to provide class participants with a unique, well-rounded, and insightful introduction to the away-from-home marketplace and how it works. Charlie has a B.A from Kenyon College and a Masters in Hospitality Management from Cornell University.
