In 2017, IFMA, in partnership with Kinetic 12 Consulting, HAVI and Datassential, championed the foodservice industry’s first supply chain best practice initiative, Supply Chain Optimization (SCO). The initiative engaged 15 leading chain restaurants, 18 manufacturers and 8 distributors, in conjunction with six industry associations.
The focus of SCO is to enable trust and collaboration among all trading partners. The goal is to solve today’s most pressing foodservice supply chain challenges to ultimately drive enhanced consumer satisfaction.
In November 2018, IFMA announced the launch of SCO 2.0, where a development board of operators, manufacturers, distributors and other subject matter experts gathered to enhance supply chain visibility through improved tracking, traceability and transparency.
