Operator/Manufacturer Collaboration Model (OCM)

In 2014 IFMA and a committee of 30 chain operators and manufacturers championed the development of a new best-practice model for collaboration called OCM - The Operator/Manufacturer Collaboration Model.

The framework includes a set of tools to help manufacturers work more collaboratively and effectively with national account customers, and for operators, with suppliers. It includes a customizable segmentation tool and scorecard that operators can use to segment suppliers and that manufacturers can use to segment their largest accounts. Read more about the OCM.

This theme emerged as IFMA began its comprehensive strategic planning process a year and a half ago. In response, the strategic plan called for creation of the Operator/Manufacturer Collaboration Model (OCM). An OCM Committee finished the first phase of its work and presented their findings at IFMA COEX 2015.
