Don Davis may have started his career as a soda machine delivery driver, but he didn't stay behind the scenes for long. What is your motto?

Do or do not, there is no try.

What is your industry passion?
My industry passion is to build meaningful and strategic relationships with customers where we both benefit. These types of partnerships are sustainable over the long run because there is value for both sides.
How do you keep up with industry news and events?
I keep up with industry news through great organizations like IFMA and through industry publications. Hillshire Brands, our parent company, also helps us with meaningful updates within the food sector. The internet fills all other voids.
What are your hobbies?
Running, coaching little league, recreational sports.
What do you think the future of foodservice holds?
I think we all had to get better at what we do and this should benefit the industry in the long run. People are always going to either need or want to eat away from home. For us, the fun of it is to get them to do it more often!
What is your advice to a person new to the industry?
Thankfully it is an industry where you can advance through hard work. However, you're going to have a few ups and downs and tough days. If you can weather a few storms and keep a good attitude you will have a great career.
How does your company use social media to connect with your customers?
We promote recipes and product use.
What is your favorite meal?
Almost any type of Italian food.
