Launched in October 2009, this voluntary initiative has made tremendous progress due to the commitment of the 64 initiative member companies. To date, work has focused on implementation within individual companies guided by a strategic roadmap for adopting these voluntary standards. While progress has been regularly shared by GS1 US with the initiative's founding member companies, it has not been communicated to the broader foodservice supply chain.
