IFMA, in partnership with The Partnering Group, championed an industry wide, all-inclusive initiative to develop Best Practices in Category Management for foodservice. The initiative engaged 35 leading manufacturers, distributors, brokers, research/ insights providers and industry associations who collaborated together to develop an eight step process called Full Plate™. Category Business Planning Served Well by both Full Plate™ and Sysco Processes

Two powerful schools of thought converged at IFMA's 2020 Strategic Issues Series (SIS) in October 2014, to address the significance of foodservice category business planning. SIS attendees learned about the similarities between the IFMA and TPG Full Plate™ best practice framework and Sysco processes, as both offer a step-by-step approach to building and executing category plans.

CHICAGO, OCT. 1, 2015—Today the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association (IFMA) released a white paper addressing the application of category management best practices and processes that help both distributors and manufacturers drive more collaborative and effective partnerships. The white paper, titled “Full Plate™, Applying Collaborative Planning Best Practice in Foodservice,” is provided by IFMA in conjunction with The Partnering Group (TPG).
