Chicago, Ill. (May 27, 2014) - In tribute to his dedication to the foodservice industry and his service on the IFMA Board of Directors, The International Foodservice Manufacturers Association (IFMA) awarded Ken Miller of The J.M. Smucker Company with a Distinguished Foodservice Executive Award.
Miller received the award - the second one presented in IFMA's 61-year history - during the National Restaurant Association Show week on May 16, 2014 in Chicago, Ill. This award was established to honor executives who have made outstanding contributions to the foodservice industry and have served on the IFMA Board of Directors.
"Not only has he been a devoted leader at The J.M. Smucker Company, but Ken has shown a strong commitment to IFMA and the entire foodservice industry," said Larry Oberkfell, President and CEO, IFMA. "We are proud and grateful to recognize Ken Miller for his untiring service and limitless energy to this great industry."
Miller joined the IFMA Board of Directors and continued the long history of support from Smucker, providing leadership on several committees including the GS1 Foodservice Initiative. Miller's tenure with Smucker spans over 30 years including serving as an Officer of the Company. Miller, who is retiring this month, also held positions in the company's international, retail, and foodservice divisions.
"It has been an honor to be a part of the IFMA organization," Miller said. "IFMA has grown to become a vital resource for the foodservice industry, providing an avenue for companies to share key learnings and best practices. My time on the Board of Directors was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career, and I'm grateful for the friendships I've made as a result."
