The need to generate revenue, fundamental to restaurant success and an overriding concern of all restaurant CEOs, has been complicated over the recent past not only by consumer reticence to spend freely on food away from home, but also by competitive threats posed by supermarket prepared foods and emerging new chain-restaurant competition. At COEX, IFMA's Chain Operator Exchange, two panels of executives tackled the revenue issue head on by addressing the twin imperatives of attracting new customers on the one hand and maximizing current customers on the other.

Getting new patrons through the door requires attention to all elements of a concept. Wendy's menu is designed to accommodate both budget-minded buyers with the new Right Price/Right Size menu and premium seekers with Dave's Hot & Juicy Burgers. At the same time, the chain continuously works to maintain the quality of its core menu offerings.
