Dear friends,

Yesterday, January 10, 2013, we lost one of our true leaders in foodservice, Lela Tripp. Lela was an exceptional person, giving so much of herself to the industry in her daily life. Her career was filled with achievements. IFMA awarded her a President's Award in 2009 and a Sparkplug Award in 2010 for her contribution to the GS1 Foodservice Initiative. She is remembered for her celebration of life and generosity to all of us.

A memorial is scheduled for Monday, January 14 at 2:00 PM at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale, Arkansas. According to a message received from Tyson Foods, Lela and her family have requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the LSU Veterinary School of Medicine or the American Cancer Society.

On behalf of IFMA and all of our members, the industry will truly miss our dear friend, Lela.

Best regards,

Larry Oberkfell
President & CEO, IFMA
